History Of Rock Told In New Stage Show
Joe Lynn Turner is among the stars telling the history of rock and roll in a new stage show. The singer tells GuitarInternational.com that "Raiding The Rock Vault" takes place in 2070 after a comet has smashed into the Earth, and follows "a group of raiders" who "go out on an expedition" and find a vault filled with classic rock music. The story is told through a mix of narration and theater, with songs interspersed throughout the show. The set list includes rock classics from Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Deep Purple, and others. Turner equates it to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra performance, and says it could go on tour or be staged on Broadway. He adds that there are "some amazing musicians and actors involved."
In addition to Turner, the nine-member band includes L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns, Heart guitarist Howard Leese, Hurricane drummer Jay Schellen, and former Quiet Riot singer Paul Shortino. "Raiding The Rock Vault" will have its debut at The Mayan Theater in Los Angeles Thursday night. More details on the show are available at www.raidingtherockvault.com.
