Fleetwood Mac To Release New Songs Before Tour
(Undated) -- Fleetwood Mac will have some new tunes to add to their sets for next year's shows. Stevie Nicks tells Billboard.com that the group recorded three songs last month, which they'll release early next year. She says Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie came up with two of the tracks earlier this year, and the third one is "an old Buckingham Nicks song" that neither she nor Lindsey could "figure out why" it wasn't included on their 1973 album. Nicks explains that the band "wanted to have something to put out" before they launch their spring tour. She also admits that "since nobody really cares about albums anymore," they felt they could "come up with two or three great songs and just put them out there" so fans can hear the group's studio sound today. However, Nicks adds that the new tunes "sound like they're 30," and reflect no departure from their previous work.
Fleetwood Mac just announced the stops for their 2013 tour this week. The 34-date trek will begin in Columbus, Ohio on April 4th, and wrap up in Detroit on June 12th. The band last toured in 2009.
