Ron Wood Hints At More Stones Shows -- Now And Later

(Undated) -- Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood is hinting again that the group will be playing more shows in the not too distant future -- and beyond. The rocker and third-time newlywed tells the UK's "Telegraph" that neither he or his bandmates have any intention of retiring -- ever -- and cites Howlin' Wolf as their role model. Wood says he thinks of the blues legend "plugging into his kidney machine" in his later years and still playing, adding, "you just rock 'til you drop." In his analogy, Ronnie got Wolf's health status right but gave him a few extra years, referring to him as 80-something. Howlin' Wolf died from complications of kidney disease in 1976, at the age of 65 - the same age Wood is now.

Wood just wed 34-year-old theatre producer Sally Humphreys last weekend. Earlier this month the Stones wrapped up a series of five "50 and Counting" shows in the U.S. and UK, which were the group's first live performances in five years. And Wood isn't the only band member to suggest in recent months that more concerts are likely. Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, and the band's longtime sax player Bobby Keys have also made similar remarks. However, the Stones haven't officially announced an upcoming tour or any new dates.
