Journey Documentary Takes Audience Award At Palm Springs Film Fest
Journey is earning praise for their documentary. "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" has received the Audience Award at the 24th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. The event's winners were announced on Sunday. The film chronicles singer Arnel Pineda's journey from homeless teen in the Philippines to fronting a major rock band. Guitarist Neal Schon discovered Pineda through YouTube, and sought him out after seeing him perform a Journey song with a band in Manila. Arnel just marked his fifth anniversary with the group last month.
The Palm Springs award is the latest honor for the film. After having its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last spring, "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" was also chosen for the Closing Night Film at the San Francisco International Film Festival, and earned the Audience Award at the Traverse Film Festival.
