Barbra Streisand To Perform At Oscars

Barbra Streisand To Perform At Oscars
Barbra Streisand is returning to the Oscar stage. The music legend has been tapped to perform what Oscar producers are describing as a "very special performance" during the 85th Academy Awards presentation on February 24th. The performance will mark just the second time Streisand has performed at the Oscars. She made her singing debut on the awards program 36 years ago in 1977, signing the love theme to "A Star Is Born." Later that same night she won the Best Original Song Oscar for "Evergreen." Streisand won her first Oscar in 1968 for Best Actress in "Funny Girl." She was nominated again in 1973 for her lead performance in "The Way We Were" and for producing the 1991 film "The Prince Of Tides."
This year's Oscar ceremony will also feature performances by Adele and Norah Jones. Funnyman Seth MacFarlane will host the awards. ABC will televise the event live on Sunday, February 24th.
