John Densmore Opening Up On Doors Legal Battles In New Book
The Doors' John Densmore is sharing the band's recent legal battles with the fans. The drummer has penned the new book "The Doors: Unhinged - Jim Morrison's Legacy Goes On Trial," in which he chronicles the disputes he's had with bandmates Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek over the use of The Doors' music, Jim Morrison's image, and the group's name. Densmore recalls how he stood up against his bandmates to oppose the commercialization of The Doors' legacy, and his objections to Krieger and Manzarek's strategy of marketing their new incarnation of the group -- which ultimately landed them in court. He also recounts the toll it all took on him. "The Doors: Unhinged," which also includes many never-before published photos of the group, will be published through Amazon.com on April 17th.
