Springsteen, McCartney Among Grammy Nominees; Elton, Sting, Dr. John To Perform
Bruce Springsteen could receive more than one Recording Academy honor this weekend. The 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year is a three-time nominee heading into the Grammy Awards. His most recent studio effort with the E Street Band, "Wrecking Ball," is in the running for Best Rock Album, while the track "We Take Care Of Our Own" is up for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. Other nominees for the upcoming ceremony include Paul McCartney, who has two chances to win, as well as Bonnie Raitt, Dr. John, U2, The Beach Boys, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, and Megadeth.
Meanwhile, Elton John is on board for two performances at the event. He'll team up with British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, and join Mavis Staples, Zac Brown, and others in a special tribute to The Band's late drummer Levon Helm. Dr. John and Sting are also part of the performance lineup. The 55th annual Grammy Awards will be presented in a ceremony in Los Angeles, and air on CBS Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
