New Hendrix Album Hits Stores Today

New Hendrix Album Hits Stores Today

Jimi Hendrix fans can now pick up a new album from the rock icon. "People, Hell, and Angels" is a new collection of previously unreleased songs recorded in 1968 and '69, which the guitar great intended for the follow up to "Electric Ladyland." The "Los Angeles Times" points to the lead-off single "Somewhere," featuring Stephen Stills on bass; "Inside Out," an instrumental reminiscent of "Purple Haze;" and "Let Me Move You," a funk tune featuring singer-saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood; as highlights. Hendrix biographer Charles R. Cross tells CNN interest in the album is high because Hendrix truly is a legend. He explains that Jimi was a gifted songwriter and singer as well as a guitarist. Cross adds that the albums released during the rocker's lifetime were "so revolutionary," and "are still very innovative." Hendrix's "People, Hell, and Angels" arrives in stores today.
